The Real Book Spy Online Book Club To Kickoff In March!

Since 2015, readers have consistently asked about the possibility of setting up an online, interactive book club. The truth is, I’ve planned to host one for years, but there was a lot to consider. . . not to mention, I needed the perfect book to kick things off. One that everyone would enjoy, from an author who would be fun to have on and do a live event with.

I’m pleased to announce that after much searching, I finally found what I believe is the perfect book to launch The Real Book Spy book club, which is all set to officially kick off in March!

Super excited to talk with The Real Book Spy on March 19th! I love the idea of The Real Book Spy Club. . . I’m in!

— Former Navy SEAL turned thriller author Jack Carr

On Monday, March 19th, author Jack Carr and I will hold a Facebook Live session to talk about his incredible debut thriller, The Terminal List. We’ll discuss the book, his background (this guy is a former Navy SEAL) and, of course, take questions from readers.

The announcement was first made on our Twitter feed:

“Wow,” said Jack Carr, “so honored to be your first selection! That just blows me away! Really looking forward to discussing the book and anything else that comes up when we talk in March!”

I first read this book last summer and knew right away that it was special. Clearly, Carr knows a lot about running special ops and has the kind of been-there-done-that experience that translates well onto the page, especially for this genre. But what really stood out to me was the writing talent and top-notch character development. The Terminal List is, and I don’t throw this comparison around a lot, a very Vince Flynn-like novel. In fact, it’s quite possibly the most daring and bold debut since Flynn’s iconic novel, Term Limits.

A Navy SEAL has nothing left to live for and everything to kill for after he discovers that the American government is behind the deaths of his team in this ripped-from-the-headlines political thriller.

On his last combat deployment, Lieutenant Commander James Reece’s entire team was killed in a catastrophic ambush that also claimed the lives of the aircrew sent in to rescue them. But when those dearest to him are murdered on the day of his homecoming, Reece discovers that this was not an act of war by a foreign enemy but a conspiracy that runs to the highest levels of government.

Now, with no family and free from the military’s command structure, Reece applies the lessons that he’s learned in over a decade of constant warfare toward avenging the deaths of his family and teammates. With breathless pacing and relentless suspense, Reece ruthlessly targets his enemies in the upper echelons of power without regard for the laws of combat or the rule of law.

ORDER NOW

The government spent a lot of time and money turning James Reece into a lethal, battle-tested Tier One operator.  But now, after his men are killed on in a mission gone very wrong, and his family is killed after he started asking too many questions. . . James Reece is coming after everyone involved with an unforgiving vengeance unlike anything they’ve ever seen before.

That is the premise of The Terminal List. . .  and Carr delivers in a big way.

I’m excited to discuss the book with Jack Carr and readers on March 19th, and all you need to do to participate is pick up The Terminal List when it comes out on March 6th and get it read before the Facebook Live event starts (if you haven’t already, pre-order your copy here, or anywhere else books are sold).

To tune in, head to The Real Book Spy Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/TheRealBookSpy/ . . . we’ll see you on March 19th!
