It was really good. In my opinion, Berry can be really hit or miss. And, honestly, some of his books all feel the same… even this one isn’t an entirely new concept — secret societies and hidden treasure — but I really believe it’s his best work so far. A lot of that has to do with Daniels’ character, and the side plots going on.

Anyhow, to answer your question, it only states that Cotton is in “western Arkansas.”
