The other thing that Ballard has in common with Bosch (and any other of Connelly’s protagonists for that matter) is that she is flawed. The writing is so good that you get quickly drawn in and root for her all the way. I couldn’t put it down, and I can’t wait until Ballard #2 comes out. Ballard and Bosch in the same year, what a treat!
