While the printed words will only take you so far, the way Josh writes, you’ll be glad that’s as far as it goes. One reviewer wrote, “you’ll be dodging for cover” and he’s right. But, it goes so much deeper than just the realistic battle scenes. The mind of the soldier is different, as it must be, and Josh does a fantastic job giving the reader a glimpse of that mindset. Though I’ve been around members of the military, I haven’t always seen the side that Josh shows as the majority don’t talk about it. They leave it on the battlefield (the best that they can). These two books have given me a deeper appreciation of what these special men and women go through and the mental toughness it takes to do what they do.
