As much as I respect Brad Taylor as an author (the guy is an annual New York Times bestselling novelist) I respect him even more as a man.
Somehow, even as he churns out two Pike Logan thrillers a year, Taylor manages to find time to write in his blog every one in a while.
And when he does, his analysis is a real treat.
Taylor, the former Delta Force operator, is an expert on counter-terrorism. While most talking heads have no military experience, Taylor is battlefield tested and – on top of that – an incredibly bright individual. Bottom line, when he speaks on a subject like this… just listen up!
In his latest blog post, titled: Donald Trump, Gun Control, and the Lunacy of Fear, Taylor addressed the recent anti-Muslim remarks from Republican presidential candidate, and billionaire businessman, Donald Trump.
Here’s a quick except from Mr. Taylor’s post, which you can read in it’s entirety by clicking here:
As soon as the attacks occurred, demands came for closing the so-called “gun show loophole”, increasing background checks, and preventing people on the no-fly list from buying firearms. Which, all together, would have done nothing to prevent the San Bernardino attack.
If we had enacted ALL of those before San Bernardino, the attacks still would have occurred. California has some of the strictest gun control laws on the books in the United States, yet the guns were purchased legally, with a background check, outside of a gun show, and the shooters were not on the “no fly” list. None of those new calls would have prevented the tragedy. Which brings us to Donald Trump.
Brad Taylor has one heck of a point, and I cannot recommend reading the rest of his post strongly enough. Again, click here to read everything he had to say.
Whether you agree or disagree with the political views Brad Taylor expressed here, I think we can all agree that between these posts and all the novels he cranks out, not many authors work harder than he does!
Thanks for your very insightful, expert analysis Mr. Taylor
Don’t forget, Taylor’s latest Pike Logan thriller, The Forgotten Solider, hits bookstores on December 29th, and is available for pre-order wherever books are sold.
