New Deal includes Books 10 & 11 in 7 Million Copy-Selling Tracy Crosswhite Series
In a seven-figure deal, Thomas & Mercer editorial director Gracie Doyle acquired four new books from New York Times bestselling author, Robert Dugoni, including a standalone thriller, two new titles in the Wall Street Journal and Amazon Charts bestselling Tracy Crosswhite series, and an untitled fourth book. Doyle also acquired THE LAST LINE, a standalone short story set in the Crosswhite universe which will publish on October 21, 2021 via Amazon Original Stories. The first book in the new deal, set to publish in Spring 2023, is a standalone thriller featuring a young attorney who gets more than she bargained for when she agrees to take the case of a wealthy man accused of his wife’s murder. The untitled 10th book in the Tracy Crosswhite series, set to publish in late 2023, will follow the summer 2022 release of WHAT SHE FOUND, and will find Tracy investigating the cold case of a Seattle serial killer. The also untitled 11th book in the series is set for fall 2024.
“Some of my most exciting days as an editor are those where the phone rings and it’s Bob, ready to riff on a new story idea. Whether it’s a new case for Tracy Crosswhite, a crazy dangerous adventure for Charles Jenkins, or something entirely different, I know that I’m always in for a great discussion and ultimately a fantastic read for me and his fans around the world,” said Doyle, noting that the new deal comes amidst a year which has seen Dugoni release THE LAST AGENT, the second book in his acclaimed Charles Jenkins espionage series, IN HER TRACKS, book 8 in the Tracy Crosswhite series, and THE WORLD PLAYED CHESS, a coming-of-age novel set against the backdrop of the Vietnam War. “These new books, which Bob is already hard at work on, capture his empathy and curiosity as a storyteller, offering something for both longtime fans and new. We’re thrilled to continue collaborating with him to deliver the kind of emotionally resonant, page-turning stories his fans have come to expect.”
“Robert Dugoni is a master storyteller, equally at home writing crime, espionage, and coming-of-age novels. The scope of his imagination is vast,” said Ruley. “Bob’s other super-power is his collegiality. All on his publishing team and in the writing community can attest to his graciousness, wit, and generosity of spirit. JRA is thrilled to celebrate the continued association of Robert Dugoni and Thomas & Mercer/Amazon Publishing.”
Following the release of THE LAST LINE on October 21st, Dugoni’s upcoming release schedule includes the third book in the Charles Jenkins series, THE SILENT SISTERS, in February 2022, and WHAT SHE FOUND, Book 9 in the Tracy Crosswhite series, in August 2022.
