Tom Clancy Power and EmpireBack in February, we reported exclusive details about forthcoming changes to Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan universe.

Mark Greaney (who has written seven Jack Ryan Sr. novels since 2011) and Grant Blackwood (who wrote three novels in the Jack Ryan Jr. series) have both exited the Clancy franchise and will be replaced by Marc Cameron and Mike Madden, respectively.

When our initial article ran two months ago, we also announced that Mike Madden’s first Jack Ryan Jr. novel, Tom Clancy Point of Contact, was scheduled for a June 13th release. (More on Point of Contact here, which is already available for pre-order.)

While we’re excited about the addition of Mike Madden and what he brings to the franchise, we’ve been working hard to find out more about the novel Marc Cameron is writing, and are thrilled to finally be able to report that the twenty-fourth novel set in Clancy’s world-famous universe will be titled Tom Clancy Power and Empire.

Check out the explosive plot details below!

President Jack Ryan is dealing with an aggressive challenge from the Chinese government. Pawns are being moved around a global chessboard, an attack on an oil platform in Africa, a terrorist attack on an American destroyer and a storm-tossed American spy ship that may fall into Chinese hands. It seems that Premier Zhou is determined to limit Ryan’s options in the upcoming G20 negotiations.

But there are hints that there’s even more going on behind the scene. A routine traffic stop in rural Texas leads to a shocking discovery—a link to a Chinese spy who may have information that leads to an unexpected revelation. John Clark and the members of the Campus are in close pursuit, but can they get the information in time?

Tom Clancy Power and Empire will be available on November 28th, 2017. At the time of this article, Cameron’s novel is not yet available for pre-order, but we’ll be sure to update our post just as soon as it is, so make sure to check back soon.

In the meantime, head over and give Marc Cameron’s official page a “like” on Facebook for a behind-the-scenes peek at the life of a hard-at-work bestselling author.

While he hasn’t leaked any details about Tom Clancy Power and Empire on his page, Cameron has posted numerous photos of himself working on the novel, which he’s written while spending time in the Cook Islands, then Alaska, and most likely everywhere in between. There’s even a picture of him reading a version of The Tom Clancy Companion, which, apparently, is a real thing.

On a side note, fans of Cameron (or Clancy fans who want to check out the author’s work before his first Jack Ryan novel comes out) can now purchase the latest novel in Marc’s Jericho Quinn series, Field of Fire, on Audible. While the book was released in December last year, the audiobook version, for whatever reason, was delayed until just now.

For the record, this was the book that Mark Greaney told us he was reading when his editor, Tom Colgan, asked if he had any suggestions for a replacement after Greaney had made the decision to step away from the Jack Ryan universe. Here’s what the author told us in February:

“I just happened to be reading Marc Cameron’s latest release,” said Greaney, “when Tom Colgan asked me if I had any suggestions for a replacement. Marc was the first and only name I gave him. His writing is both intelligent and action-packed, and Marc has an impressive personal resumé that I am sure he will work into the novels to great effect.”

As for Mark Greaney, we’re told he’s been hard at work on his next Gray Man novel, which is called Weaponized and will follow this year’s Gunmetal Gray, which came out back in February and was the first book in his series to land on the New York Times bestsellers list. We hope to have more details to report on that soon, so stay tuned for updates!
