Of all the authors who release monthly newsletters, J.T. Ellison’s is by far one of the very best. If you’re not already signed up, click here to subscribe and make sure you get her updates sent directly to your inbox.
In her latest newsletter, which went out Wednesday evening, Ellison treated her fans to a number of juicy tidbits. For starters, she’s blogging, which, let’s be real, is just awesome. Just today she posted a question designed to take readers down memory lane when she asked: “what was your favorite food as a kid?”
(my answer, by the way, is pizza. . . which is still my favorite food, though my wife doesn’t let me eat it as often as I could growing up.)
Ellison also announced that she’s currently working on her next collaboration project with fellow New York Times bestselling author Catherine Coulter, tentatively titled The Last Second. That book will, of course, follow this year’s The Sixth Day, their latest critically acclaimed thriller following Nicholas Drummond and Michaela Caine.
While that news is certainly noteworthy, the real crown jewel of this month’s newsletter was the cover reveal for Ellison’s all-new standalone novel Tear Me Apart, which is due out September 18th.
The follow-up to her critically acclaimed Lie to Me, J.T. Ellison’s Tear Me Apart is the powerful story of a mother willing to do anything to protect her daughter even as their carefully constructed world unravels around them.
One moment will change their lives forever…
Competitive skier Mindy Wright is a superstar in the making until a spectacular downhill crash threatens not just her racing career but her life. During surgery, doctors discover she’s suffering from a severe form of leukemia, and a stem cell transplant is her only hope. But when her parents are tested, a frightening truth emerges. Mindy is not their daughter.
Who knows the answers?
The race to save Mindy’s life means unraveling years of lies. Was she accidentally switched at birth or is there something more sinister at play? The search for the truth will tear a family apart…and someone is going to deadly extremes to protect the family’s deepest secrets.
With vivid movement through time, Tear Me Apart examines the impact layer after layer of lies and betrayal has on two families, the secrets they guard, and the desperate fight to hide the darkness within.
“This book is unlike any other I have ever written,” teased Ellison in her newsletter, before going on to explain that she wrote this book on the heels of last year’s Lie to Me (one of my favorite books released in 2017), before setting it aside to work on The Sixth Day.
According to the author, Tear Me Apart is “a very serious family drama, a dark suspense, and has a bit of a Girl, Interrupted vibe, albeit if the girls were grown up.”
Fans anxious to get their hands on Tear Me Apart, in stores August 28th, can pre-order their copy here, or anywhere else books are sold.
In the meantime, make sure you’re following Ellison on Twitter and Facebook.
