While speaking at an event in Cambridge, Massachusetts tonight, which also featured author Joseph Finder, bestselling author Steve Berry made two big announcements about his Cotton Malone Series.
According to a source I spoke to who was in attendance, Berry said his next novel–which should be released in 2018–will be a prequel story. Evidently, fans will finally get to see how Cotton joined Magellan Billet!
The second bit of information has to do with Berry’s 2018 novel, which he says will be the first in his series written in first-person narrative. So not only will fans be given a look at how Cotton joined the Justice Department’s top secret intelligence gathering group, but we’ll also be given a deeper understanding of how Cotton thinks–when he narrates his own story in ’18.
Berry is currently making his way around the county as part of his book tour for The 14th Colony, the eleventh book in the Cotton Malone series. Earlier today news broke that The 14th Colony will debut at #5 on The New York Times bestsellers list for hardcover, and #6 for print and eBook combination.
The 14th Colony came out on April 5. I gave it a rating of 7.5/10, and would definitely recommend it to fans of historical fiction or thrillers in general. You can read my full review here.
Congrats to Steve for yet another bestseller. I, like so many others, cannot wait for the next Cotton Malone novel, especially now that we have our first bit of exciting information!
