One of 2018’s biggest thrillers finally has a cover!
Brad Meltzer took to Twitter last night to give his fans a first look at the cover art for his new novel, The Escape Artist, which is slated to hit bookstores on March 6, 2018.
WE HAVE A COVER! Coming March 2018. Share this and I’ll pick someone to get the first copy. I can’t even begin to express how excited I am for you to read this. You won’t believe where the government let me sneak into. pic.twitter.com/IQTMY0ruSa

While review copies haven’t gone out for Meltzer’s book yet, one big name has already weighed in on The Escape Artist, giving it a resounding endorsement.
“Meltzer is a master and this is his best. Not since The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo have you seen a character like this. Get ready to meet Nola. If you’ve never tried Meltzer, this is the one.”
— Harlan Coben
Just in case Harlan Coben’s blurb isn’t enough to get you excited about Meltzer’s book–and let’s be honest, it really should be–check out the plot details below.
The Escape Artist
Who is Nola Brown?
Nola is a mystery
Nola is trouble.
And Nola is supposed to be dead.
Her body was found on a plane that mysteriously fell from the sky as it left a secret military base in the Alaskan wilderness. Her commanding officer verifies she’s dead. The US government confirms it. But Jim “Zig” Zigarowski has just found out the truth: Nola is still alive. And on the run.
Zig works at Dover Air Force Base, helping put to rest the bodies of those who die on top-secret missions. Nola was a childhood friend of Zig’s daughter and someone who once saved his daughter’s life. So when Zig realizes Nola is still alive, he’s determined to find her. Yet as Zig digs into Nola’s past, he learns that trouble follows Nola everywhere she goes.
Nola is the US Army’s artist-in-residence-a painter and trained soldier who rushes into battle, making art from war’s aftermath and sharing observations about today’s wars that would otherwise go overlooked. On her last mission, Nola saw something nobody was supposed to see, earning her an enemy unlike any other, one who will do whatever it takes to keep Nola quiet.
Together, Nola and Zig will either reveal a sleight of hand being played at the highest levels of power or die trying to uncover the US Army’s most mysterious secret-a centuries-old conspiracy that traces back through history to the greatest escape artist of all: Harry Houdini.
Nobody combines historical fiction in their thrillers like Meltzer, who is one of the best authors working in the genre right now.
The Escape Artist is, unquestionably, one of the most anticipated books of 2018, and, while it’s early, fans can pre-order their copy here. In the meantime, if you haven’t read any of Meltzer’s other books, check out his Amazon page–you really can’t go wrong with any of his stuff. He also publishes the mega-popular “I Am” kids series, which is a great way to get your children reading, learning, and having fun.
You can bet we’ll be covering this release right up until it hits store shelves, so make sure to check back for updates in the coming months!
